WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON TOURS
 
Sea Kayaking
Experience the grandeur of Hobart's location from water level. Leaving from the scenic Hobart waterfront at Victoria Dock, Hobart waterfront paddles are a great way to spend the afternoon and get a taste of sea kayaking on the wonderful Derwent River. See the scenic Hobart waterfront and Mount Wellington from the water! Price includes fish and chips and coffee.

Notes: All kayaks and wet weather gear provided - you will need to bring a change of clothes with you." A reasonable level of fitness is required."

Cascade Brewery and Mount Wellington
Cascade Brewery is renowned around the world for its high quality beer. On this tour you will start the tour with a visit to the Brewery, from there up to Mt Wellington to experience spectacular views. On this journey you will rise more than 1200 metres above the city of Hobart.

Return to hotel at around 5.15pm

Cost: $39.00 per person, includes tour and entry to Cascade

Chocolate And Wine
Visit the Claremont Cadbury Factory for a tour.   Learn about the history of Cadbury's and the chocolate making process. You will even get a tasting or two. At the end of the tour you will have a time to visit the Cadbury shop.

Then it is off to Moorilla Estate to s ample some of Tasmania's finest cheeses accompanied with a selection of Moorilla fine wines and tour Tasmania's oldest vineyard/winery established in 1958 by Claudio Alcorso.

Return to hotel at 5pm

Discover Hobart
Hobart is a city of yachts, gardens, galleries, sandstone cottages and stately Georgian homes.

On this tour we will visit Battery Point with its charming historic houses and St Georges Church. Sullivans Cove, Hobart's Birthplace and ferry terminal

Salamanca Place, St David's Park and Parliament House, Anglesea Barracks and a visit to the ruins of the Female Factory made famous in Bryce Courtney's novel The Potato Factory.

Then to the Royal Tasmania Botanical Gardens for a wander around and some afternoon tea.

Return to the hotel by 5pm

Mt Wellington Descent - a thrilling ride down Mt Wellington by bicycle
You will be driven the 21km to the summit of Mt Wellington, where you will have a chance to have a look at the spectacular views from a height of 1270 metres.

Then it's down the mountain we go, watch the alpine terrain gradually being replaced by a magnificent forest. Have a rest stop and a quick snack at the Cascade Gardens before heading off on the final leg of you ride to the Hotel Grand Chancellor.

All the necessary gear is provided (bikes, helmets etc) this ride is suitable for non-riders, fitness level is not a problem.   As long as you have balance and hold a bike in the right direction you are in for a great afternoon.
